2022-2023 Ski Season information

Powder snow enthusiasts rejoice! 

This winter season, Shiga Kogen Resort is back and better than ever! Prepare yourself to carve some of the best slopes in Japan and enjoy the newly renovated Higashi-Tateyama Mountain Station. Here, updated facilities are sure to bring out the foodie in you! Warm up at the new on-site restaurant and then chill out with a glass of red or white at the stylish wine bar serving up local best-sellers. Alternatively, grab a coffee from the café and head on over to the terrace to take in the beauty of Shiga Kogen from a bird’s eye view!

The 2022 – 2023 Ski Season Schedule:

  • 03 Dec 2022 – If conditions permit, Ichinose Family, Ichinose Diamond, and parts of Takamagahara Mammoth ski resorts will open.

  • 21 Dec 2022 – All other ski resorts and slopes in the area will open.

  • 01 Apr 2023 – Most ski resorts will close.

  • 08 May 2023 – Remaining Ichinose Family, Ichinose Diamond, Takamagahara Mammoth and Terakoya ski resorts will close.

General information

Shiga Kogen Resort is a top-notch destination for winter aficionados looking to experience the best powder snow in Nagano, vastly unparalleled access to slopes and close proximity to sightseeing, hot springs, restaurants and shopping. Guests can enjoy days filled with carving fluffy powder snow, soaking in relaxing hot springs or watching adorable free-roaming snow-capped monkeys bathe in their personal springs at the Snow Monkey Park.

Transport has never been more convenient with the newly renovated Shiga Kogen Yamano-eki bus station which greets visitors with restaurants, shops, cafes, rental stores for ski gear and stunning mountain views. With direct buses from Nagano and Yudanaka station or Shibu Onsen as well as parking at their large parking lot, this trip has never been easier. Take a short 5-10-minute walk or an exciting ride on their new pulse gondola from the station to get right into the action at the start of the slope.

With the easy-access to these world-famous slopes, both overnight guests or day-trip travellers can experience the quality of powder snow and slopes that accommodated the 1998 Winter Olympics.
